Google Profits: It’s Really Not A Google Cash Rehash
Finally a book that truly demystifies making money online, and does it in plain English. Google Profits by Wade M. Winger (edited by Denise Blankenship) is an online business related ebook centered around earning money through Google AdWords and ClickBank affiliate products.
What To Expect From Google Profits
The book is geared to those who are new to online or affiliate marketing and can even be of great value to intermediate affiliate marketers.
Google Profits explains, in plain English, what an affiliate program, Pay Per Click advertising, ClickBank, and Google AdWords are and why the latter two are the focus of the ebook.
Google Profits continues by explaining how to select affiliate products from ClickBank to market using the 5 step success formula.
- Find a product
- Set up an advertising campaign
- Identify profitable campaigns
- Start a full campaign
- Expand (make more money)
Each step has supporting information separated into two parts: Information and Action. The information section gives an overview of the step and why it’s important. The action step outlines exactly what you need to do using the information provided.
Demystifying Google AdWords And Taking The Easy Route With ClickBank
Coming from an Internet Marketing background, I must say that most of the content provided is based on sound advice, especially the section on developing profitable AdWords campaigns. However, I don’t fully agree with his suggestion to blatantly copy other advertisers if you draw a blank.
It seems like a very bad habit in my opinion and doesn’t teach creative thinking. I would suggest emulating the other advertisers. Learn from their ad and then craft a better one.
In addition to the excellent section on developing successful AdWords campaigns, I wish the book included at least a small section on how to manage or keep track of the campaigns. That was an instance I was glad to have Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook because it has some great tips for managing and estimating the profitability of AdWords campaigns.
The section on expanding the successful campaigns could have also used a few more details on the advertisers other than Overture and Search123 needing a landing page.
A brief blurb on why he liked the listed advertising sources, any caveats to using them, and any other notes the reader should be aware of before deciding to use them would definitely have enriched the section.
But all in all, my mind was finally able to wrap itself around some of the concepts which seemed so confusing in other articles or ebooks. I now have a much clearer understanding of how to get started advertising with Google AdWords. While it may not be the definitive guide to Google AdWords, it’s certainly enough to get someone ‘new to the game’ started right away.
When Google Profits gets into the ClickBank section, the book states “go to ClickBank and search through the 11,000+ affiliate programs.” That may cause some confusion to someone just starting out because ClickBank does not have search function. But he does clear it up when he goes into the explanation for finding the products via the ClickBank marketplace.
Google Profits Makes For Easy Reading
Google Profits is written for the layman, complete with a step by step walk through and screen shots. While the language wasn’t completely elementary, it didn’t contain an overabundance of technical or ‘buzz’ words.
The paragraphs were of a manageable length and the size of the font when printed made for comfortable reading. Because of this relaxed writing style, language, and structure, I found learning from it to be exceptionally easy and enjoyable.
However, there were an odd number of simple grammatical errors for an ebook which has an actual editor. Though not many, it was still slightly perturbing to see them. But not to worry, they certainly didn’t take away from the readability or informational integrity of the ebook itself.
This is an ideal book for those just starting out online or even intermediate online marketers who have been shying away from using Google’s AdWords program because it seemed too complicated or time consuming. I actually felt pumped up and eager to get started before I even arrived at the first ‘Action’ section, but I wanted to read it through once for comprehension before starting.
Final Thoughts and Helpful Advice When Getting Google Profits
If you truly want to get started online with affiliate marketing, it doesn’t get any easier than Google Profits, but make sure you have at least $100 to build up some momentum. Once you’ve established yourself in the black, then take some of that profit and reinvest in to build up a stable monthly income.
If you wish to truly expand and build a business out of affiliate marketing, I’d recommend purchasing Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook to expound on the Google Profits Success Techniques.
At the end of the day, I give Google Profits 4 out of 5 stars.

You say that this book is not a Googlecash rehash, but after reading the review, you never explain why you think so. Other than a certain focus on Clickbank–which Googlecash does cover–it would certainly seem to be: find affiliate programs and drive traffic with adwords. That is Googlecash, and that seems to be Googleprofits. What’s the difference? Another entry into the field is Affiliateadventure, by Scott Adams. If you could point out significant differences and absence of overlap, I would be grateful.

Hi Juan,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts. After reading Google Cash (I know they have a revised version out this year), I found myself to be overwhelmed by the amount of content and tips to digest in one sitting.
I remember, I wasn’t able to actually get started because I wasn’t sure where to get started or why.
Don’t get me wrong - Google Cash is a great ebook (and will be reviewed later) - but it is not for the faint of heart.
Google Profits is more for the novice-beginner in that it holds you hands, cuts all the superfluous information not necessary for getting started and lays out, step by step, what needs to be done to get started earning with AdWords and ClickBank.
This makes it much easier for a reader to get started right away - for instance, the same day of reading it. It took me nearly a week to actually finish Google Cash.
Google Profits has an information section which explains what he’s doing with his own sites and why, and then it has an action section which basically says Stop, now you try it.
I read an old Chinese proverb once - Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I may remember. But involve me, and I’ll understand. — that’s exactly what comes to mind when I think of Google Profits, it involves the reader.
I hope that clarifies some things, if not, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the generously long reply. If I understand correctly, then, the reason to buy this is to have a clear guide to get started. My concern is that Adwords is now supposed to be a sophisticated game in which it is easy to lose money and not so easy to make it. Is the info in this book adequate to really start making an income, or does it presuppose that, having read it and gotten started, you will need a good deal more and sophisticated information to actually profit in terms of a viable income source?
In a general way, there is a great need for reviews that are not simply positive and verging on a sales piece, but are really reviews which give the reader a clear and, above all, impartial, picture of pros and cons, strengths and limitations, comparisons, and the like. -

Hi again Juan,
Thank you for stopping by and holding a conversation here
.I’ll try to answer your question in separate chunks.
Is the info in this book adequate to really start making an income, or does it presuppose that, having read it and gotten started, you will need a good deal more and sophisticated information to actually profit in terms of a viable income source?
Yes, I believe so. However, as I mentioned in the last paragraph, it’s a good idea to at least have $100 as seed money for advertising.
The author believes you can get started for far less (about $60), but I disagree with that point.
AdWords can be a sophisticated game depending on which niche you choose and what your keywords are.
Some keywords will be far more competitive than others, and therefore, far more costly. But if you can find that one sugar sweet set of keywords, you will rake in the money.
The author is also very clear that only 3 out of 10 campaigns are most likely to be successful, but those 3 should more than make up for the latter 7.
In a general way, there is a great need for reviews that are not simply positive and verging on a sales piece, but are really reviews which give the reader a clear and, above all, impartial, picture of pros and cons, strengths and limitations, comparisons, and the like.
You are very right Juan and that is what eBooktastic is aiming for.
There are plenty of books slated to be reviewed and there are some books which will be ripped a new one (pardon my French) simply because they are lacking.
If you feel there is a way we can improve our reviews, please let us know, or if you want to submit your own reviews of anything, you are welcome to do so.
The review of Google Profits above is honest based on my experience with it. I loved how the book was put together and flowed.
It had an editor and it shows. I really enjoy how the author made everything clear and darn near ‘foolproof’, however, there were some areas I didn’t like.
For instance, not enough detail on how to actually manage the AdWords campaigns or his transition from affiliate programs into the ClickBank marketplace.
And based on my own experience using the techniques (for a short while only), I’ve managed to earn back the cost of the ebook and a very tidy profit - my total AdWords expense? $40.
This is something worth pursuing for someone who is passionate about earning money online and has the time to invest up front to get things going on autopilot for later days.

Thanks again for a generous reply! Hope you don’t mind a few more questions
You say: ” if you can find that one sugar sweet set of keywords, you will rake in the money.”
Does the book really help you find these “sweet sets?”
You also say: “not enough detail on how to actually manage the AdWords campaigns or his transition from affiliate programs into the ClickBank marketplace.”
Do you have any advice as to where to look for this extra information?
Thanks again for your kind concern.
By the way, I ran into a UK opportunity that feels a little funny, have you heard of it or know whether it’s legit? It’s:
I would value your opion of this.
Warm regards,
Juan

Does the book really help you find these “sweet sets?”
It won’t give you the specific keywords (if it did, then they really wouldn’t be profitable anymore), however, it will give you examples and ideas to get your own creative juices flowing.
When it really comes down to it, it’s the marketer’s responsibility to find the keywords that will be the most profitable through diligence, consistency, and being persistent.
Do you have any advice as to where to look for this extra information?
Because this is such a large arena, there are a number of resources you can turn to for more information.
As mentioned, albeit in passing, in the article - Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook is a good choice as it contains a lot more information on developing and managing AdWords campaigns. Not only that, it contains information on building an affiliate business from the ground up and it’s written for the budding affiliate marketer.
If you’re strictly into AdWords, then I’d recommend Google Cash — however, I believe it would be more for intermediate marketers rather than beginners.
By the way, I ran into a UK opportunity that feels a little funny, have you heard of it or know whether it’s legit?
I’ve never heard of this website/company and I don’t reside in the UK. With that out of the way, I’ll go on to say that I would certainly be wary of handing over your money.
Red Flag 1: Though it specifies on their website that they’ve been around since 2003, their domain was registered in November 2005 (less than a month ago).
It could very well be that they were an established brick and mortar shop, however, it’s unlikely because their product is digital in nature.
Red Flag 2: They are very secretive. They give no indication of what their product is or how it can make you money.
Fear of digital theft is not a logical or legitimate reason for not revealing how a company can earn you money. It’s a common ploy of pyramid programs and MLMs (heard of HerbaLife?).
In many countries (not just the U.S.) - you can file a patent which prevents someone else from ripping the exact idea.
Also, if someone really wanted to steal the product, then can just spend the money to buy it and then reverse engineer it.
Red Flag 3: The parent website ( lnstantOnlinetrading.com ) listed on their “Join” page doesn’t exist and according to whois records, the domain is still available for purchase [both links go to screenshot].
Red Flag 4: Their hidden refund policy.
Finally, The Work-at-Home eSystem has to be followed step by step with proof to us to be considered for a full refund. By purchasing the eSystem you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Refund Requirements
Full written proof of your digital product that adheres to all copyright laws.
Fully operational Website with sales page
Full Link to your merchant account (paypal)
Full link to your Digital product through your Website.
A 30 day Invoice from Google adwords and Yahoo Overture, Showing that you have advertised for the whole month
[Source] emphasis addedRed Flag 5: Lack of contact information. While this wouldn’t be a red flag on its own, as many websites omit a phone number or mailing address for various reasons, but combined with the red flags above it should cause someone to take pause and strongly consider who they’re sending their money to.
It smells suspiciously of a pyramid scheme. And though it may be a legitimate company, I’d recommend doing your due diligence before getting involved.
And if you do buy into it, I’d recommend purchasing with a credit card where you can have a full reversal should you run into any problems with getting a refund.
Remember the old adage — if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

Thank you for a fantastic internet experience! I think a great reviewof Google Profits came out of it, and I am also very appreciative of the reasonings you’ve taught me in evaluating an offer. Thanks a million!
In the interim, I’ve done some research on the adwords game. It looks as if Perry Marshall is the guru of gurus in the field, and his book “The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords” is highly regarded. Also, the Googlecash people offer a mentoring program, “Adwords Mentor,” on a subscription basis, and it is supposed to be very good. -

You’re welcome Juan.
And yes, Perry Marshall is considered to be one of the leading experts on AdWords, but for someone just starting out - I would suggest starting with something more newbie friendly.
That said, Perry Marshall’s AdWords guide is definitely a great resource if you want to get into the down and dirty of using Google AdWords!
